At a distance of 70 km lies the Cochin International Airport, the closest from Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. The closest town Kottayam also serves as the nearest rail link from Kumarakom. The town of Kottayam is just 14 km from Kumarakom. Either taxis or auto rickshaws can be hired to get to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary from Kottayam.
