7, Olympics 2008 in Beijing, China

The Olympics 2008 was a successful season of the Indian team when they had ever reached some outstanding titles.

Firstly, it was record of Shri Abhinav Bindra- a shooter. This was the first time he could spend one gold medal in the individual prize at a big event like the Olympics.

He defeated the no. shooter- Zhu Qinan who was from China when he was a winner for Athens 2004. 

Although coming to the final match, he was less appreciated than his direct opponent. Finally, he overcame all challenges to go the winning. after this event, he was voted as the best shooter in a long time.

Besides it, Shri Sushil Kumar and Shri Vijender Kumar won two bronze medals. Furthermore, Vijender Kumar made history of running when he was the first Indian athlete to come in the semi-finals of one Olympics season. Finally, he reached the bronze medal at the middle-weight category.

Finally, India owned one gold and two bronze medals in one big sport festival.

8, The World Cup Cricket in 2011

The World Cup Cricket in 2011 was the most successful season of India team. This was the second time, this team could reach the gold medal, after defeating Sri Lanka in the final match.

It was during 28 years the Indian expected one winning from the national team because since the World Cup Cricket in 1996, they won the season in the first time, then they couldn’t reach any Champions more.

After winning the World Cup Cricket in 2011, they were one of two national team could own two titles in cricket history.

3, the World Cup Hockey at Malaysia in 1975

This was the first time the Indian team reached the Championship in the biggest event about hockey. They won surprisingly by spectators and competitors, but the fact it was a deserved result for passion, hard-working and effort of all team.

In the semi-final, they were against Malaysian team who was the host. Their opponent was cheered up warmly by massive amount of fans. However, they overcame Malaysian team excellently to go the final match where they met the most potential team of World Cup event. It was Pakistan. The fact, Pakistan had a rich history about achievements and success in hockey while India had never reached any Championship.

Finally, Indian team could create new history for hockey when they won Pakistan. In this match, Pakistan was stronger to make a goal firstly. Then, under pressure and disappointed, Surjeet Singh made surprising when he could make a penalty corner to bring the tie for India. Then another hero- Wizard Dhyan Chan scored the second to decide winning of the match.

4, The IX Asian Games at New Delhi in 1982

The IX Asian Games in 1982 was established at New Delhi. This was highly appreciated because of professions in preparation and organization.

At this event, it attacked more than 5000 athletes includes sportsmen and women from many nations in the Asia.

Finally, Indian team reached 5th in the ranking with 55 medals: 13 golds, 19 silver and 25 bronze.

1, the Asian Games in 1951

After the Second World War, Asian countries became close, free and friendly each other. They co-operated in many fields to create strong Asia businesses, compared with other continents.

So, idea to establish some sport events to connect people closer. As a good result, the first Asian game was held in 1951 at New Delhi, India. India played the host country for this event, then opened other next games at Asia.

This event marked an important meaning in the cooperation about sports venture as well other fields in Asia. Finally, this event was successful as expectations and continues to be held in the current period.

2, Olympics in Helsinki 1952

Before the Second World War, Olympics was considered as the biggest sport event in the world. Therefore, receiving any medal in this festival was great and wonderful.

Shri Khashaba Jadhav represented India to join the wrestling game in 1948 and 1952. He was under pressure to bring victory for his nation.

As a good result, he was excellent in the Olympics 1952 at Helsinki to bring the bronze Medal. If he had a little extra luck, maybe he could go to the finals to pick up the golden medal. However, this achievement was surprising and happy for any India. Because this was the first time one Indian athlete can reach one medal in the Olympics.
