Bhongir Fort Andhra Pradesh


Bhongir Fort is a beautiful and majestic fort located on a hill at Bhongir, Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh has played a significant role in the pages of Indian history and was an important seat of political sphere and this fort tells these stories by itself. This majestic fort of Andhra Pradesh is situated at the height of 500 feet and spread in the area of around 40 acres. This fort was built by Tribhuvanamalla who was a Chaluka ruler. Bhongir Fort is guarded by two gigantic rocks and used for any enemy attack. There is a wide fosse encircled in the fort which was used for the restriction of the enemies inside the fort. From the top of the hill, the picturesque view of the city is worth watching.

Bhongir is a town located in the state of Andhra Pradesh and 48 km away from Hyderabad. This small town is known for its majestic Bhongir Fort which is the prime attraction of the town. Bhongir Fort has a unique egg-shaped construction with two entry points protected by two huge rocks. There is a moat that encircles the fort. There are several things which are worth watching in fort like a vast underground chamber, trap doors, an armory, stables, ponds, well etc. There is a point known as Bala Hisar on the top of the hill which gives a bird's eye view of the neighboring area. Once there was an underground corridor in the fort which was directly connected from Bhongir fort to Golconda fort. There is also a famous Hanuman temple on the hill.
